Eco Gloves in Partnership with Unity Farm Sanctuary to Promote Sustainability and Animal Welfare

Unity Farm Sanctuary is a non-profit organization based in Sherborn, Massachusetts, that provides lifetime care for ill, disabled, senior, orphaned, or surrendered farm animals. They offer public and private tours and host events at the sanctuary to promote kindness and empathy for farm animals and encourage plant-based living. They also offer extensive Humane Education programs for students from K-12, college and post-graduate, Girl Scout troops, after school and other community programs to inspire compassion for non-human animals, human beings and the planet and foster understanding as to how we are all interconnected.

Sustainability Efforts

Unity Farm Sanctuary has made several efforts towards sustainability since their inception. The organization has committed to reducing waste and increasing recycling and composting. They have adopted eco-friendly practices such as selecting sustainable packaging for animal medications, using sheets instead of liquid laundry detergent, and using energy-efficient lighting. The organization has also found creative ways to reuse materials. They recycle wool into pig beds and bird nests and use discarded shipping pallets to build garden beds and compost bins.

Achieving Greater Sustainability with Eco-Friendly Gloves

In taking a step further, Unity Farm Sanctuary has been exploring ways to support sustainability through the use of eco-friendly gloves. The sanctuary uses disposable gloves for various tasks such as handling food donations, cleaning chicken coops, delivering medications, and conducting humane education projects. 

This past March Eco Gloves donated Compostable and Biodegradable gloves to support Unity Farm Sanctuary's Humane Education programs. By supplying our gloves to help Junior Girl Scouts in building model sanctuaries with clay, we were able to help students avoid stains to the hands and the otherwise difficult situation of having to remove clay from their fingers.
