WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

GUIDE TO BUYING DISPOSABLE GLOVES
Gloves differ in design, material and thickness. With all the options available out there, you might wonder what to look for in a glove.
Here's your guide to buying the best gloves for you.
1. Disposable Glove Materials - Plastic Alternative? Nitrile? or Vinyl?
When looking for a glove that best suites your needs, consider the task and check the material of the glove first. Gloves should not hamper the task. Generally, thicker, robust gloves (like neoprene kitchen gloves) offer great protection but thinner gloves like latex, nitrile, polyethylene (PE), or compostable gloves, offer better dexterity.
Do you have specific allergies to certain materials or will you be serving people with high allergic sensitivities? Some people can develop an allergy to gloves made of natural rubber latex, while others can have allergic or asthmatic reactions to powdered gloves. Being aware of whether the glove contains latex or other harmful chemicals is very important because these types of materials can pose a risk, not only to the user, but also to sensitized people in the area. Also, know what your gloves are made from and consider your or other people's reaction to its ingredients.
2. Disposable Glove Thickness & Durability - 2 Mil Gloves Won't Puncture or Rip
If you are looking for gloves that offer greater control and dexterity, consider that not all thin gloves like PE gloves or compostable gloves are made equal. The general market of PE and compostable gloves are only .01mm making them thin and prone to tearing. For more durable protection, choose gloves that are at least .015mm in thickness. For comparison sake, Eco Gloves are made strong and durable at a thickness of .02mm-.06mm.
3. One Size Fits Most Disposable Glove for Protection
Will the gloves be worn for a short time intermittently or for long periods? Comfort is more important for longer wear. Having the proper fit ensures that you have the proper protection and level of comfort desired. If the gloves fit too tight it is easy for the pressure to create tears in the material and make it very uncomfortable for you to wear for long durations. If the fit is too loose, contaminants could enter the glove easily or the glove could come off completely. It is easy to just grab a box of gloves off the shelf without thinking twice about looking at the size. Refer to the size chart above to make sure next time you reach for your disposable gloves you have the best fit.
4. Disposable Glove Cuff Length & Grip Texture
Do you need protection from surface touch, substance contact or total immersion into potential messy items or harmful substances? Short gloves are fine to protect against splashes. If hands are immersed (and you can justify that this is unavoidable), choose a length greater than the depth of immersion. Do you need greater control or require smooth application? If wet/oily objects are handled, choose gloves with a roughened/textured surface for good grip. Select gloves with embossing or textured ridges if you need some grip for the task, or smooth for food preparation or applying hair dye.
5. Bulk Wholesale Disposable Gloves
The average food service or safety worker uses up to 20 disposable gloves per shift. There are a lot of glove options out there, but not all gloves are produced and discarded with mother earth in mind. With the growing plastic pandemic it’s important to consider whether the gloves you are buying are going to add to that problem. While protection and convenience are top priority, choosing plant-based compostable plastic alternatives is a great way to help alleviate some of that plastic waste from landfills.
As of current, there are no recycling programs for gloves and 98% of gloves are not compostable or biodegradable. What does this mean? Trashing of traditional plastic, nitrile and latex gloves inevitably pollutes and harms our landfills, oceans, and wildlife. But now you can do more by choosing non-plastic and non-wasteful compostable alternatives like Eco Gloves. Eco Gloves are made from sustainably grown plant-based materials, which emits less greenhouse gas emissions during production. Furthermore, their compostability means a return-to-earth solution, which leaves our planet clean and waste free.
6. Certified Compostable Gloves that are Shipped in the USA
Recent demand for gloves and shortages of them have brought unscrupulous operators into the market. Many glove companies are promising quick deliveries after accepting payment, but some never deliver or have you waiting for months. Furthermore, many companies are falsely representing their glove quality only to leave customers disappointed with bad quality and useless product. By comparison, Eco Gloves, items are concepted and designed in the USA and manufactured to the highest quality for the international market. Our products are in stock and leave our USA facilities within 1-2 business days. Additionally, our gloves adhere to US and international standards for safety and protection and third-party certified for compostability.
You are ready!
Keep in mind, no glove material will protect against specific substances or germs forever. Overuse or misuse of gloves when they are torn or soiled may compromise your hand protection. As always, practice good hand hygiene by washing your hands before and after glove use.
Gloves are easy to come by, but finding the best glove for you is only possible if you know what you're looking for. Knowing what material, fit, and color you need to get the job done, matched with the quality and compostable elements of the gloves will make any task much more enjoyable. Make sure to read more of our blogs to learn more information about the different type of disposable gloves as well as picking which one of those gloves is best for you or contact us anytime to ask us any questions you may have.
